Packaging

"Packaging"—the net effect of your particular marketing mix—comprises the marketing techniques you employ, how the array hangs together and its suitability and eventual acceptance by your target audiences.

Your marketing mix will make or break you over time.  Try as you might, a single technique can win the day  but not the war.

Your brand—you do have one—must rely on your constantly nurturing it in your marketplace. Is it you according to your unique abilities, expertise and personal temperament?

Your marketing mix combines to make you dynamic and compelling in the marketplace, a special combination of ingredients that will make an irresistible you appear larger and better than the others who try to be heard above you and everyone else.

If you cannot be heard and seen above the din and hustle of the crowd, the crowd will pass you by.

Do your marketing efforts and collateral combine effectively, or does your marketing mix come together like oil and water? It may seem like a jigsaw puzzle to you, but your marketing mix should be an assembled jigsaw puzzle with a compelling image.

Each part of your mix should yield some measurable result. PTMP-Personal Target Marketing Profile might solve multiple concerns including prospecting and demonstrating that you truly are an advisor advocate.

Your brochure should double as a presentation and selling tool.

The bulletins and white papers you issue should provide important, timely news as well as demonstrate your expertise, savvy and perhaps wit, depending on your markets.

These are just examples. The combination should be winning and reflect your truthful image. My best client calls delivering his package giving them the full Melchinger, but it is the marketing mix most suitable to reflect who Steve really is.

It's your business. You do it well. Why risk losing the marketing game?
